Privacy Policy

OtterSnap ("we", "us") operates https://ottersnap.com and the OtterSnap rendering API. This policy explains what we collect and why. We keep it short because we collect very little.

1. What we collect

• Account data: your email address and a hashed password (or your Google/GitHub account ID if you sign in that way).
• Usage data: API request counts, plan limits and error logs, tied to your API key.
• Rendered URLs: the URLs you ask us to render are processed to produce your output. We do not sell or share rendered content, and cache entries are deleted on a rolling basis.
• Payment data: handled entirely by our payment provider (Paddle/Polar). We never see or store your card details.

2. What we do NOT do

• We do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
• We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
• We do not read the content of pages you render except as technically required to render them.

3. Analytics

We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Plausible or similar) that do not identify individual visitors. No cookie consent banner is required for this.

4. Data retention & deletion

Render outputs and URL caches are retained for at most 30 days unless you explicitly save them. You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard or by emailing us; account and usage data are then erased within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax or fraud purposes.

5. Your rights (GDPR & similar)

If you are in the EU/EEA, UK or another jurisdiction with comparable laws, you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.
